The launch of 4g made 2g to get dissapear and also made 3g sales breakthrough. The 4g published by airtel,vodafone,reliance jio made entire customer to focus on 3g and 4g but not 2g. In olden days,there was only existence of 2g that is in 1990s.But now it has been diminished and we got 4g technology into existence which is more faster than expected and in the coming days we can expect more fastest network than 4g and we can say that it will not be done manually but the robots will be doing it.
The statistics of june-september quarter of 2014 says that the sales of 2g phones decreased by 25% over the total country of india.The drastic change occurred in 2015 that only 9% of 2g smartphones have been sold out this year. Hence,there is guarantee that 2g will demolish totally and 4g will be replacing it and the technology does not have death , in the upcoming days we can have more and more expectation on phone network as well as our network topology. Presently we are having 2g sales at a rate of 5% of smartphones.
This decreament in sales made big companies like samsung,intex and micromax to stop the production of 2g handsets.But eventhough the focus is on 4g network. We also have a point that in 4g enabled phones we will be having 2g feature also. So, it is waste of buying 2g only supported phones. This tells that 2g devices totally get eliminated from the market.All the executives told that the sales of 2g phones are totally decrementing as the time proceeds further. So,no new models will be launched from now.
Recently,samsung company launched 15 4g enabled model phones this year,and then more 25 models will be launched in future and sales of 4g may increase in upcoming days. Micromax known for its own brand informed that 35% of their total sales are from 4g network and hence with this reason they have launched approxiamately 15 4g enabled models this year,which can go up to 25 in 2016. Research senior telecom associate deekshith pathak told that "2g network phones will be no longer help in business profit in any organization and we can expect all will exit in coming days or years.
Now, the price of cost of producing a 3g is relatively coming nearer to 2g phones, the manufacturers are trying to concentrate on 4g enabled phones which is giving a good profit. 4g handsets are having demand and is surging the market.
Head of Intex, sanjay kumar told that next limit of cost for 4g handsets is 4000/- ,and 3g handsets will be having the cost of 2000/-. This clearly tells us that 2g handsets will be having a very less cost compared to this both handsets and till now the cheapest phone launched till now is at 1950/-. As per nokia's index, that gives info regarding broadband patterns says that 3g consumption has been increased and there is steep decline in 2g handsets that made existence for the sales of 4g only handsets. Actually,in july 2014 the 3g network took overhand the 2g network and it is continued till now. All the manufactures are expecting 651 million smartphone handsets will be sold by 2017.
Finally,it is time to have farewell time for 2g only handsets in india as well as in other countries.
